You can do 7cm Femurs and 5 cm Tibias and be perfectly fine - this is a gain of 5 inches total. Don't do 8 or more on femurs and more than 6 on tibias. That's all.

Also be serious about your physical therapy and you'll be fine. It will take a ton of time but you can and you will heal.

But on a serious note, a gain of 5 inches may look proportionally weird. A buddy of mine gained 12cm and his arm to leg proportions are a little goofy. People are not going to suspect CLL but just keep that in mind.

Agree that it may very well look odd. How about 5cm and 4-5cm, for a 4 inch gain?

This is entirely your call! I have longer arms so it would look ok on me. This guy was built different. It could look good on you! Measure your wingspan and make the call yourself.

Also, most importantly, don't leave the surgery with regrets. If you want to max out, just do it 5’9 to 6’2

The nice thing is that starting at 5’9” already you are lengthening a smaller percentage of the original bone length, that’s the great irony of LL, the taller you are the safer it is.

If you are 5’9 on the dot you need to lengthen 12.7 cm total, the only reasonable split is 8 femur, 4.7 tibia. It also will be absolutely required that you lengthen a year apart for any hope of decent recovery, 2 years would be preferable.

If you are 5’9 and some change (176 cm let’s say) I’d go for 11 cm total, 7 femur 4 tibia, now this will bring you 1 cm short of being 6 foot on the dot but let’s be honest, you’ll be taller than most guys who are “6’2”  5’9 to 6’2 . I think with this split if you bust your ass PTing and wait that minimum of a year you can expect to retain a good amount of athletic ability.

As far as proportions I think it’s best to just ignore them unless it’s some absurd discrepancy. Putting on muscle can really help it look more natural. Also if you go people watching or go on social media, people’s proportions are all over the place and generally no one notices. I see tons of tall men and women who’s  height just comes from their legs. People on this forum just have a hindsight bias and become obsessive, so don’t go down that thought cancer rabbit hole.
