I disclosed mine to 6 people, my sister (she was a little discouraging but then understood and agreed to keep it to herself), 4 friends (all seemed nonchalant and not discouraging and told me to let them know if they can help during recovery/surgery) , one coworker, an older guy who is like my mentor (his reaction was one a shocker, he started treating me like I am a freak who has lost his mind, his face became pale and horrified and he was saying 'think hard about it, people make rash decisions', 'don't play with your life' etc. and he even started treating me somehow differently !!), lessons for you - different people will react differently and it is upon you to decide whom to disclose to and whom not to, generally young people tend to appreciate and be supportive and older ones tend to be negative about it.

My families really supportive about it luckily. I don’t plan on telling anyone outside my family but my mom was actually the one who told me about it years ago if it wasn’t for that I probably wouldn’t have ever known
