If everything were equal, then taller is better in the minds of many women, but rarely or probably never are two people exactly equal in all respects except height. I think in most cases if the 5'9 guy had the advantage in anything like social standing, money, chemistry with the woman, etc, then the 5'9 guy would be picked over the 6'0 guy.
If you're not getting dates at 5'9, it's not your height that's the problem, imo.
