These "exercises" aside are there really any alternatives that might give a couple of centimetres? I heard crazy stories about how sumo wrestlers used to get silicone implants under their scalps to meet the height requirements, I know this is also used as a treatment for some patients with skull fractures. I believe there was a clinic in Spain that offered the scalp implant but mainly for women applying for air-stewarding jobs that had a minimum height requirement. I also worry about the implant not only making someone look stupid, but the fact it might be able to precipitate hair loss, the risk of rupture and basically preventing doing any contact sports and indeed leakage of the implants so close to the brain and other important nerves and vessels in the head and neck region. It sounds totally bonkers.

I know there is a treatment used on the heels and pads on feet but this at best only adds less than a cm.

Of course my aim is for the LL surgery but I just wanted to check if there are any alternatives out there that could add a couple of cms in the short term (no pun intended) before LL.

BTW I'm not talking about things like inserts or special shoes etc.

Quote from: V21 on February 15, 2021, 05:31:26 PMThe skull thing is real, in fact I almost did it but... the doctor says it's quite annoying to have it, and any strike can break it. For that reason, it's not used for cosmetic reason, but for jobs that demand height requirements. The feet pads things are a scam, a friend tried it and they don't work.

Where were you thinking of doing the skull thing? If the health risks weren't so high heck I might have thought about, taking aesthetics into account of course. I think the maximum the surgeon in Spain recommended was 5cm.

Well I've just done a search of this online. The closest thing to the scalp implant is a legit procedure known as a forehead augmentation which is quite popular in Asia and also there are clinics performing it here in the UK. It basically follows the same principal except on the forehead and not the scalp. That being said they outline the risks regarding trauma as well as increasing the risk of hair loss around the areas of the incision and slightly beyond that. So the scalp implant really isn't a great idea at all. That being said the original clinic in Spain that proposed this seemed to indicate it was only meant to be a temporary procedure and that patients would have the implant removed after their relevant assessments.

A 5cm implant on the skull as it would be more posteriorly wouldn't give the image of a weird shaped head as such but the risk of trauma on the skull and a ruptured implant leaking into a fractured skull is really both concerning and a little too scary to think about.

Quote from: RealDamagedLostSoul on February 16, 2021, 11:28:24 PM5cm wouldn‘t make it look weird? I doubt anything above 1 or max 2cm would not make you look weird. Anyways yea skull implant isn‘t really a good idea :/. Sadly there are no alternatives to LL as an adult. So to reach bigger heights you have to do it twice.

I mean in terms of looking weird it really depends on the shape of your head and the positioning of the implant. But when I tried to research this with the surgeon who supposedly did this in Spain, it drew a blank and I can't find anything else about it online other than the articles from nine years ago. As I said (though not having researched this) I would assume the risks I keep citing regarding precipitating hair loss, and trauma potentially causing leakage into the skull etc is a huge concern, especially given I do a lot of contact sports and would continue to do so even after LL (I hope).

Or just take finesteride which acts as a testosterone blocker and in the process decrease your libido, get gynaecomastia and increase the risk of aggressive prostate cancer.
