Just asking. Is 7cm too much or is 6cm the limit? Thanks!

I've been studying this surgery quite a bit, and the facts seem to be that if you do 7 cm for the tibia, you maybe okay, but you'll lose your athletic ability. 30-60%.

Between 4 and 5 cm the Achilles Tendons fully resist, which pretty much means you're pushing past the resistance of your tendons. 90% of tibia patients get 5 cm without the Achilles Tendons resisting or getting too tight, therefore your athletic ability will be fully back to normal. But those who did 6 cm had some slight weakness in the tendons and 7 cm patients lost all athletic ability.

If you want to get back to 100% do 4 or 5 cm. If you want to lose athletic ability do 7 cm. Depends how focused you are on running again.

Hope this helps?

It is doable. Depends on how your body reacts. How long ago did you do your surgery?
