What is the % chance that blood transfusion will be required after precice method surgery?
Debiparsad in his interview said he has not did any transfusions so far (slightly old interview but still).
but One patient in India had to get blood transfusion and that is also with excellent doc (who has done like 1 dozen surgeries (just) till now, so high probability in this case).
any other data points here?
chance of requirement of blood transfusion post surgery precice method
anyone guys??
In this website its written that blood tranfusion is not needed https://www.ilizarov.in/faqs/lenthening_faqs.html#27 and this is for ilizarov method which is more invasive
but one patient on forum recently got blood transfusion and he was using precice which is less invasive.

for blood loss, more the wounds more the blood loss rite?
In Ilizarov method there are open wounds and so many pins going into skin
with precice its just 3 incision so blood loss should be low. But one patient had blood transfuion done with precice method recently which is a bit scary in India
Guys Its quite funny :-
I am Indian and I did whats app search on my phone for all message requesting blood from my friends and groups that I am part of.
In last 6 month, there was 9 messages asking for healthy blood donors bcoz those ppl either couldnt find blood in blood bank or they fear the safety of blood from blood bank.
Some were even planning for surgery in the future and even though it is "planned" surgery they were still looking for blood donor. This is sad state of affairs. There is shortage of blood in banks and there is quality is not trusted by all.
Quote from: Medium Drink Of Water on November 27, 2022, 02:52:20 PMIt's not just the size of the opening. What they do with the opening makes a difference. Jamming a giant rod down into your bone marrow is much more invasive than some thin rods going in horizontally.
I think you are correct. https://www.ilizarov.in/faqs/lengthening_faqs.html#27
In that link the dr has written that transfusion not needed for ilizarov surgery but he already done 1 transfusion in his precice cases (1 out of 5!) So may be its related to internal or external.
Should we opt for external for less invasive surgery?
