Hi Everyone.
I'm considering between Dr. Guichet and Giotikas.
Five years ago, I learned about LL but decided it wasn't for me.
I started thinking about surgery again 9 months ago because social media is very popular in this case and my dream is to be taller.
I have spoken to some patients in my country who had the surgery abroad by LON/G-Nail, and they were in the middle of the process, so I know exactly what is going on. G-nails are internal and fully weight-bearing. The method allows the patient to walk.
I spoke with Dr. Guichet 2 months ago and was impressed by his experience and training program.
He told me about how it is important to be flexible and to increase my muscles by 30% and he's right because all the patients I was talking with them they lost a lot of muscles. He has been performing the surgeries for almost 30 - 40 years. He developed the G-nail, but some people here have written that he has the worst stories, so I asked him and he said that he would be willing to sign me his statistics.
I spoke with Dr. Giotikas 2 months ago, and he less impressed me, but I hear from the patients here that he is a good surgeon. Another benefit of Dr. Giotikas is that his patients now stay in the same hotel. The social environment, the motivation, is very important during such a time.
I am trying to decide between Dr. Guichet and Dr. Giotikas - which would you recommend?
Please tell me just the truth.
Considering about Dr. Guichet or Dr. Giotikas
My time spent in Guang Ji Hospital with a few dozen LL patients, both Chinese and worldwide, was one of the best times of my life. I've been a black sheep my whole life, and there I found a whole flock. I felt a sense of belonging and comfort there that I never have and never will experience anywhere else. That's why I post here 15 years after LL.
Between the two of them, I would pick Dr. Guichet--easily. He's who I'm planning to do femurs with (eventually).
I can feel it in your words 😊

When do you plan to have the surgery?

I am doing tibias first very late this year or early 2023, so it won't be until early 2024 or so until I get my femurs done.
Guichet used to be considered one of the best, but after Leechlet, the Indian guy who died, and particularly Unicorn, his fame on these boards has dropped considerably.
I don't think Giotikas has been around the boards long enough to get a read on how he is as a surgeon.
Flip a coin I guess.
