Yes, I personally think that the more you do at femurs the shorter your arms look and the lower your knees look too. So I think splitting is nice for proportions. Check your femur to tibia rate first too

5cm + 5cm is safe too, but depends at your conditions, I know that 4cm + 4cm is really possible and okay
