Hello Nomad,

I'm also thinking of 5cm lengthening on tibia by LON even maybe 5,5 or max 6. I want to ask you if you lose any cms after removing the fixators. I mean you lengthened your tibia 5 cm by LON device but did you get exact 5 cm taller or a bit less than 5cm?
I ask that because i recently read that it might be normal to lose 10-15% of the gain after removing the fixators.

thanks in advance

I was also wondering the same thing. I asked a couple of doctors on their opinion and they said that the only reason someone would appear to “lose” height after removal is because they dis not measure their height correctly in the beginning, or they took say their morning height and then compared it with their evening height.

I asked my doctor about this. You wont lose a single millimeter. So if youve for example lenghtened 5cm you wiill get the full 5cm.

Thats good to hear, in that case I reckon its the people inaccuracy regarding the measurements, they are probably measuring morning height and then comparing it with evening height, something like that.

Thanks for the answer. So it's because of incorrect measurements either before the surgery or after lengthening

Quote from: nomad13 on June 28, 2020, 04:44:59 PMI can walk even faster i feel can run in slower speed but haven't tried much because i want to take it slow.

Want to share one of strange experience i had in Dr. Mangal Parihar Hospital(Mangal Anand Hospital), I took an appointment a week before seems they are operating with limited slots per day because of covid 19, I went to the hospital(on 17/06/2020) met a doctor there he asked when and where i had my surgery, about my frame etc which all felt valid questions to ask, but he seem to be too interested in knowing what i do as in work, and where am from, I felt that were bit off topic questions, and felt may be he wants to decide price of treatment depending on my work and where am from, i dunno, or may be he wanted to make me feel comfortable. Reason i went was to have some opinion of Dr. Parihar on my recovery, at the end doctor i met asked me to take some x-rays which i did and i finally met, Dr. Parihar he seem very simple and nice kind of person, didn't ask any odd questions like other doctor before. As per him yes, my right leg recovery is bit slower but it has united so he asked to follow some good workout regime and diet and see how it goes.

This could have been one of their fellowship students. I had a similar experience when I was there before the covid crisis. I was definitely uncomfortable though. At one point there were 3-4 people in the room asking me questions. I just took it positively that it's better if the staff is interested in me instead of neglecting me. External tibia (LON) with Dr. Pradip Sharma in Gurgaon(Delhi NCR) After that with Dr. Parihar the consultation was very reassuring.
