Walking normal means a family member would not notice you walk differently. You do not have a sway.

I mean really if you can talk off the height increase just say you fell down the stairs or tore your ACL when you visit family, by the next time you see them you'll probably be back to normal gait.

I have enough time built in, Im just curious. ACL tear is a good one though.
how much time you got? 5cm femurs very safe and conservative goal so as long as you have a like 5 more months should be cool
If you are able to keep 1mm a day thus reaching 5cm in 50 days, i would say max 6 months post op. Usually somewhere between 4-8 months. Depending on your bone formation and muscle adaption.

Im actually going for 4CM because I dont like how 5CM is starting to throw off my proportions.
I could have up to 4 months when lengthening stops, maybe 5 if I really pushed it. But id really like to walk normally sooner. Im hoping I can walk normally 2 or 3 months after lengthening which I hope itsnt too ambitious.

August is basically the end of the line where Im 100% going to need to see family. But id like to walk normally well before then.

4cm is not a bad gain at our starting height. But keep in mind that your legs will appear longer because of all the muscle loss. Once you will fill them up again they will appear shorter (this doesn't apply to people who lengthened 7cm+). I have seen many post op pics and I have never seen anyone who did 5cm on the femurs and looked weird. Unlike the people who did 8cm and more that from my personal view, all looked freakish and unnatural.
3 months post lengthening is not too ambitious if you will keep walking during distraction and consolidation phase

Im more worried about biomechanics. 5CM is going to drop me to .718 (1.391). At that ratio I'm really starting to leaving the pack behind in terms of the normal distribution. Theres a reason peoples legs are the ratios they are...because it works. I dont want to leave this functional area.
At 4CM ill be at .732 (1.365) which I think is already pushing it.
