Hi everyone !
I've been wondering the following lengthening protocol might improve the chances of retraining more athletic ability/preventing nerve damages and so on .

I would like to undergo an internal femur lengthening and do max 6 cm .
Since it is a conservative amount I wanted to know if lengthening the first 10 times by 1mm in order to create the starting gap and then slowing down to 0.75mm for 4 days then the 5th day do 1mm again , then slow down to 0.75mm and then again 1mm and maybe put in there some days with just 0.5mm to let the nerves/muscles rest more ,could be more beneficial for us in long term .
I know there is a risk of pre-consolidation  but all this is an assumption so..assuming I have a normal bone formation (not slow-not fast) , could this be an option ?
I feel this might be a really intresting approach with the downside of having to lengthen more days ofc .

I believe so but I want to maximize on every aspect all I can do by picking the right surgeon , lengthening conservatively and slowing down as much as I can the lengthening x day in order to generate the least amount of stress of muscles and joints .
Since you have been here as a moderator longer then me , are u aware of anyone who had this approach and worked fine ?

Quote from: TakingAction on December 26, 2021, 01:01:35 AMIt seems that the nerve grows about 1mm per day on average based on people’s posts here on the forum. Thus, the 0.75 mm might reduce 90% of the risk, and the 0.5mm might not be needed because even people with slow-than-average speed for nerve growth should be faster than the 0.75mm?

As we were discussing on your diary,  I have no evidences to confirm that , but 1mm is the standard but also probably the max and in LL I would not stay on the edge .
Probably 0.75mm would work fine with no nerves problem for 99% of ppl without any need of 0.5mm .
