To all veteran CLLer's, did your past acquaintances who you knew pre CLL (family, friends, co workers) notice your height gain post CLL?

If so, how did you handle it/ explain to them?

Also has anyone been able to successfully hide the LL by wearing lifts pre LL and stop wearing lifts post LL?

I currently wear 3 inch lifts (as advertised) in my shoes (I did a quick test of lifts in and lifts out and they add about 2.25 to 2.5 inches, net impact is reduced due to compression.) I plan on no longer wearing lifts post LL and transitioning to flat, thin soled shoes. My goal is to LL 3 inches gain via LL which would result in a net increase of about half an inch (net of lift gain) which I'm hoping is small enough to hide. Has anyone done this and were they successfully able to conceal the height gain?

Thanks man! One downside to being average or just under average is that I fall within the larger population of height. I’m terms of people noticing, as the majority of the population is at my height, I will suddenly be towering above a bunch of people who were formally at eye level with me. So I’m that regard 5’8 is a disadvantage. I’m hoping the pre op lifts help mask the increase.

Hey TheAlchemist - I had a pretty similar pre-surgery profile as yours. I was just over 5'9 and wore 3 inch lifts in my shoes (mainly boots) for the past 4 years. You're right, due to compression they really only add about 2.5 inches to your height. I also had some 2 inch lifts that I wore with other shoes. So, my actual height varied by about an inch depending on what shoe I was wearing -- but the important thing is that I *always* wore lifts whenever I stepped outside. Despite that variance, nobody ever noticed a difference in my height. So, half an inch is almost certainly going to be undetected by everyone expect people who have seen you without lifts. I'm definitely tossing the lifts after lengthening is complete. The thing I hated about the lifts is that you had to commit 100% to them or they were useless. If I showed up to work once without lifts EVERYONE would notice the difference in my height and would (of course) know I was using lifts.

I'm currently lengthening with Stryde and have hit the 3.3 CM point. Like I said, the only people I expect to notice a difference are people who have seen me without lifts.

...so, mainly ex-girlfriends Hiding LL height gain / Did people notice your height gain?

Thanks verticalpush! This is precisely my experience with lifts.....a toxic addiction that controls and limits my activities and my ability to get really intimate with someone as I never took them off. It's actually quite remarkable that the last girl I dated for 1 year never saw me with my shoes off as I always had my lifts in......right before bed I'd slip them off. Ridiculous behavior and a sad way to live your life but on the plus side it reduces the likelihood of people noticing CLL. You're absolutely right, 0.5 inch will likely go undetected in the grand scheme of things.
