lmao its not a medical necessity and insurance of any kind is never going to pay for this.  People with severe back issues get rejected by insurance all day long.  Those rods going to be in you forever poor boy.

I think this is true but my biggest concern is they do a hack job because they're not familiar with the nail.  Thats why I would only go to the initial surgeon personally.

Assume if they were precise family of rods you might have a case for public removal since they have to come out but the clicking rods are able to be left in so would be more difficult.

The nails are very similar to each other in terms of removal.  The device mechanism varies but they're all held in place by similar screws in similar places.  As long as you know the brand, the doctor can order the proper equipment from the manufacturer to do it (if he doesn't already have it, which he may.)

I got mine removed in Spain for a lot less than what it would have cost in the US.
