Hey guys,

I am planning to have my surgery with Dr. Giotikas in Sept/Oct of this year. I have had a consult with him and he has indicated that local anaesthetic is an option for this surgery. The reason I would prefer local is that 5 years ago I underwent treatment for testicular cancer and one of the chemo drugs can interact strangely with general anaesthetic even years later so local would be a much safer option.

Did any of you guys undergo the surgery with local (spinal etc) and what are your thoughts about general vs local for this type of surgery?

Spinal, and bring ear plugs and something to cover your eyes like a blindfold
