Guys, does anyone know about doing lengthening tibias with no IM nail? The doctor of mine told me my bone gap was too narrow to put a nail in, and he'd be inserting a smaller nail after I completed lengthening when I come to remove the external fixators.
Is this safe? And issue I would have with non union or deformity?

I'm confused, I don't need to remove the frames? But my method is monorail. Not hexapod fixator.

I see. This is what I was worried about. Could inserting a IM nail after completing lengthening (when removing the external fixators) eliminate that misalignment?
Anyone else had an experience with this? Kinda has me worried.

Also, did you have tibia LL with monorails and you had no IM nail at all? Even after removal of fixators? So you had to have monorails on until your bone consolidated?
Or do you put an IM nail inside after completing lengthening.
