The recommendation of Dr Guichet to his patients is 18 months.

I only personally know Betz patients. The ones I know usually took the nail out around 2 years after surgery and everyone is fine, me included. I'd wait around that. Just 1 year is too soon.

In my case, I had the surgery in January 2012 and I took the nails out in the end of December (close to Christmas) 2013. So, almost 2 years from surgery, 1,5 year from completed lengthening.

It depends on consolidation rate, not just time.  I got my internal nails removed 13 months after I finished lengthening and could've done it 2-3 months sooner but wasn't able to fly back to China right then.

It seems to me having a boom sound in the bones and the circumstance is just bone bulging and they are both way better than being short but still I am hoping for your swift recovery.
If I were you I would've never said I wished I never had done LL instead I would've rejoiced over being taller than previous although with some physical issues.

Does anybody has an opinion if this so scaring event could happen because the diameter of the nail chosen was a bit larger than it should and the bone was under tension a lot of time and broke where it was still not hard as the rest.

I don't know where was the fracture but maybe even normal bone could broken, intuitively, if its medullary cavity was penetrated with some ''violence'', maybe wishing it was the higher diameter, needed for the weight of the person and if the values in consideration to choose the nail diameter were in the margin between two diferent diameter nails.
I know that definitive callus bone is apparently as hard as normal bone but there are different theories and opinions in articles and one can again intuitively imagine, speculate just for example that the patient had a poor diet in calcium and the new bone wasn't yet as hard and the same as the other.

I mean if one of them can break suddenly, the other one also very risky of you to press on it. I'm very worried about you right now
