Is there anyone else here at a similar stage to me i.e. initial research stages and a similar budget - would be good to compare notes and discuss options!

well it doesn't take much research - you break your legs and they get prised apart - then they grow back to fill the gap 🤷‍♂️

First, decide which method you want to have done. The LON method is more painful, less comfortable, and slightly more prone to infection compared to the others. However, with the LON method you can lengthen more than 8 cm on the femur. As internal methods, I know Precice 2 and Fitbone. With the Precice and Fitbone methods, depending on your situation, you can lengthen 8 cm on the femur and 6 cm on the tibia.

The Precice 2 method is more expensive than the other methods. You can lengthen an average of 1 mm or 0.75 mm per day (this is determined based on your doctor’s check-ups). The LON method allows 1.25 to 1.50 mm per day. With both methods, you must receive physiotherapy to reach your goal.

Is that really true? I am not familiar with LON but why would you increase more than 1 mm per day? I am pretty sure this will f*ck up your soft tissue (i.e., muscles, nerves etc.).

Not continuously. I’ve seen some patients progress at this rate from time to time, but generally the safe rate is to lengthen 1 mm per day.

I am planning LON Tibias. I am wondering if it will be too painful to endure or not aswell. Anybody who had LON Tibia?
