2. Which product did you use?
3. Are they bad for the muscles?
Question for LL veterans who tried hot or cold packs to help with pain
1. Did they work?
Absolutely, In fact it's probably the most effective thing for inflammation.
3. Are they bad for the muscles?
Nope

Cold packs are good for inflammation-related pain. Hot packs help with the stiffness they don't really help with the pain IMO.
Just buy both and see which one you prefer
take your pain meds dont try to hack the process with useless ice packs

Sometimes ice packs are more useful than pain meds. You can't take nsaids because they are not good for bone growth and other pain meds won't cure inflammation so ice packs are the only option.
440 posts and the fact that inflammation is the number one reason that makes LL possible still eludes you
nsaids are just one of the 3 main categories of pain meds, dont see why you cant take drugs from the other 2
what pain meds are there?
1. paracetamol - too weak for LL
2. nsaids - lowers inflammation->elevated risk of non union
3. opiates
-tramadol
-codeine
-oxycontin
4. honorable mention - cannabis but obviously you cant buy that from a pharmacy like the other 3
during my distraction period i controlled my pain with just tramadol/paracetamol mix. Do i have superhuman pain tolerance? of course not
so how did i do it?
75mg tramadol 3 times a day, 8 hours between doses at the exact same time each day
tramadol max daily dose is 400mg so with 225mg a day i was taking half the max limit and had 0-1/10 pain level for the 2 months it took me to get to 5cm
that way i didnt develop opiate addiction and pain was not part of my journey
