Mostly with external fixator, but also with internal nail..
Did you experience any pain in your foot?
My fixator has 2 most distal pins, about 2 cm above the medial malleolus. That region is so tender but lately (5 months after surgery) I'm starting to have pain in the foot itself, like making a step in some movements causes sharp pain in the middle of the foot.
Is that something common?
Could it be related to the swelling (still swelling...) In the ankle?
Is it something to be expected to resolve after removing the fixator?
And more generally, how feasible is full recovery of the ankle joints?
Now I'm like 50-60% consolidated, can walk without crutches, although very slow and carefully... I keep worrying this pain might be permanent and running or even walking fast is something I won't be able to do
Any thoughts?
( I did 4 cm on tibia)
