Just thought I would give you guys an update I received from a surgeon. I consulted with Debiparshad a while ago so I receive email updates from time to time and he sent me one stating that his sources in Nuvasive have informed him that they will be set to announce that Stryde will not return for 18-24 months at the earliest. You can also see the update on his Instagram page. This is bad news but useful for anyone who is waiting out for Stryde, unfortunately it will not be an option for the foreseeable future.

Two years is a long time to wait if someone was planning on this soon.

I feel bad for those who waited on the brief return.  I felt like I was being hasty setting a precise 2.2 surgery date this June, but unfortunately it was clearly the lucky decision.

This is big news considering there was talk from of Stryde returning in Q3 this year. Great news for Dr Betz though.

Especially considering how few options are available. The only weight bearing nails are the Betz and Guichet nails. Precise 2.2 leaves you dependant on a wheelchair and walker for months and external fixation for femurs has its own issues.

I think means that lysis is a problem after all and they have to mend the nail. That could mean a full phase 3 trial and FDA approval and then CE, MHRA approval.

Given this news, I think we should create a topic with current available options and the pros and cons of each method to help prospective LLer’s choose. I might look into doing this if anyone is interested.
