Hey fellows, I currently have the budget of around 170K USD (200CAD) to do the CLL, and I would try to go for total 10cm from both femur and tibia, what is the best lengthening lengths for femur and tibia? (my current guess is 6 in femur + 4 in tibia). I prefer to do them in Canada(since I live here), does anyone know if there's some good doctors from Canada? (otherwise I will have to travel to the US). I would definitely go for S nail or maybe the P nail, even these are for both segments, I suspect if 10cm is a realistic goal to achieve. What do you guys think? give some of your opinion and would be really appreciated. current height is 170cm

Hi,

6cm femurs 4cm tibias these are generally considered "safe" but hopefully posters with actual experience on lengthening both segments can share their opinion.

I've read about dr. Marie Gdalevitch in Montreal but there are no patient diaries as far as I know

It takes more time but if you want to achieve your goal in the safest manner, you should probably do two lengthenings with plenty of time (e.g., a year) between them.

I'll be doing 10 cm (tibia first then 4-6 weeks later do the femurs). Discussed the plans with the top doctors and they're willing to do it and said it's safe. I was thinking 5 cm in the femur and 5 in the tibia, but proportions wise would 6 cm in the femur and 4 cm in the tibia be better? Not sure how the recovery is going to be, especially if you are doing it now with PRECICE 2.2 since STRYDE is not available.

I think recovery with 6Femur and 4cm will be even faster

Great! And with the smaller individual lengthening movements would there be much of a risk going with Precice right now instead of waiting for Stryde?

I think you wont have a big disadvantage with Precice insteady of Stryde because your lengthening goal is pretty decent and the recoverys probably gonna be pretty fast.

yeah I would wait for the Stryde, I'm not going to rush it with Precice, for safety concerns.

I'm not sure what your safety concerns are. Stryde and precice are the same except for the fact that the latter can't do weight bearing... procedure and lengthening method through the device are the same...
