Say all the tall males in the world wake up to be a foot shorter than they are - the 6'3" (190 cm) become 5'3" (160 cm), the 6'0" (183 cm) become 5'0" (150 cm), etc. For the sake of the argument, they are all perfectly healthy after the change and the only difference is the lost height.
How do you think the majority of the former tall but now short males would handle it? Would most fall into a severe depression noticing that they are treated by others differently after the change, especially by women? Would the women in committed relationships with these men suddenly leave them due to their loss of height? Or would the effect be minimal and those who are suddenly short be able to overcome it by listening to the advice most give current short men, which is "have confidence"? Do you think tall men value their height so much that if they were to suddenly lose it and become one of the short men that many would commit suicide?
