Hi guys,
a question that I am asking myself is, when can you safely start playing Beachvolleyball or dancing Salsa after the operation (I just want to do the femur with 6cm) without having to fear that bone or the nails break? Is it only possible after nails have been removed? To me from a logical point of view it seems very risky to play Beachvolleyball while the nails are still inside. What do u think?
Thanks

While your bones have fully healed, It is safe to resume all activities. You have to be aware that the same way a native bone can get injured with sufficient trauma, a healed bone can as well.
I tend to warn my patients to avoid running and jumping activities for 6 weeks after nail removal.
hope this helps!

Great, thank you! And meanwhile the nail is still inside you wouldn't recommend running?
I have a similar question. Is it right to say that after distraction and the bones have healed (consolidated), it
is okay to resume athletic activities w the nail inside, before nail removal?
