Is it just based on how much these perceived flaws affect your life? Does a guy who looks like this have BDD if he spends hours a day staring in the mirror and crying? What if he goes to extreme lengths to try to fix his 'perceived' flaws?

In regards to height, a 5'1" male who obsesses over his height obviously has height dysphoria(which by definition doesn't necessarily have negative connotations like BDD), but does he also have BDD? Does it matter at all to those who diagnose those with BDD whether or not these perceived flaws are objective reality or not?
