Many of the Dr. Best patients have lengthened over 8cm in their femur without Itband release surgery. Although they got wide legs but it become better after their finishing lengthening.

On the other hand, Dr. Paley's femur patients always receive Itband surgery no matter how many cm they want to lengthen.
Besides, I find many runner have some problem with Itband but still do not want to receive Itband release surgery.

Why do you think the difference?

Do you think Itband release surgery is necessary in femur lengthening?

i think it was because of the clicking nail vs precice 1 and precice 2.

If you had a tight IT band it will create more resistance against the distraction. The magnetic tech of precicice 1 and 2 may to be strong enough.

clicking tech is mechanical and it will be stronger.

I got this answer by e-mail from the secretary of Doctor Parihar in India:

"With the Precice 2 nail for femur 7 cm is possible with IT Band release. Without the release even this much would not be possible without causing stiffness in the knee joint."

She also said stryde will not be available in India before the end of this year.

Dr. Giotikas told me IT band release will not affect your athletic performance. And told me the IT band regenerates the same as the bone.
