"Lengtheing buddy"?

In his review of clinics, Cyborg mentioned a few of the more all-inclusive overseas clinics as providing a "lengthening buddy." Does anyone know what this is / where I can read more about it?

After reading some of the diaries, I'm imagining myself solo on week three, with an hourly caretaker stopping by, too half-mad with pain to focus on being consistent with the lengthening.

I could need someone more invested in me than an outside contractor to, at minimum, actively remind me of why I'm doing this and to keep going. It'd be nice to be able to outsource handling the lengthening to the facility entirely, at least for week 1-3.
