Hello,

This is my first post. I am glad this community is here. In this post I’m really just going to gauge lower leg and femur of mostly track athletes since it’s so easy to get pictures of their proportions.

When I look at these pictures knee height usually looks really similar. The femur and upper body seems to be where the main differences lie.

I don’t have any questions here. I just want to share and keep a log of photos of male proportions just for analysis purposes.

Andre de Grasse - 5 feet 9 inches

Jerome Blake - 6 feet 2 inches

Brendon Rodney - 6 feet 5 inches (seems inaccurate compared to people around him. Probably 6’3?)

Aaron Brown - 6 feet 1 inch

This is awesome. Thanks for sharing these comparisons.

It's pretty crazy (and comforting in a way) to see how close the knee heights are across such a wide range of heights.

I'm getting femurs done with Dr. Becker on 5/10/23. Excited!

Exactly. It makes me think femur lengthening is better than lower leg lengthening for a variety of reasons including aesthetic and safety reasons. I am hoping to do 3 inches in the femur with the Becker Betz institute in June of 2024. I hope you share your journey. You got this!

Agreed. And good luck, hope you can get that scheduled soon.

From a functional perspective I'd say femur might be superior. But aesthetically longer tibia's are always going to look better.

None of these athletes underwent any limb lengthening that I know of. Do any of their proportions seem outside the norm to anyone?

yeah in fact ive seen that many athletes have a longer tibia or a bigger wingspan. and henry cavill the guy who plays as superman actually has smaller wingspan, but boy does he look good. this gives me hope.

Hello. Here are some before and after pictures that actually show the legs. To me some of the patients proportions after the surgery look worse, some look better, and some don’t look that different. All in all though, the change in their proportions never really looked bad to me. They all look like just regular people. I guess someone would have to do over 9cm in a single pair of bones to actually mess up their proportions.
