well i have no experience on internals  (being a current externals patient) but what i will suggest is the body changes alot and alot of things change especially whne in a truama state like ur. If u suspect infection then u should regularly monitor your temperature. If the temperature fluctuates normaly through the day then its prob not an infection and if its on the higher side often, even then it doesn't mean necessarily that it is but u can be notified better. Trust me even a slow infection such a bone infection would be alerted to the master control thats the brain and it will produce thermostatic changes in the body to fight the infection, which fortunately u can measure.

but i think its prob not an infection tbh doesnt look like 1. its the nail corroding the weakened bone.
