Hi everyone, I plan on getting my first surgery sometime late May. I want to come in as flexible and mobile as I can. Does anyone have some simple stretching routines that they can recommend? I stopped training legs at the gym as well.

There's a book called Elastic Steel that I thought was great.

Why would you stop training your legs at the gym? That's a terrible idea. You'll need all the lower body strength you can get going into surgery.

I'm getting mixed opinions on this. IIRC Medium Drink of Water said in a previous thread to not build muscle on your legs. Realistically speaking I won't even be training legs consistently for  another 2 years (getting two surgeries one year apart).

Are you 167 tall at the moment? You plan to get two surgeries done so how tall do you wish to be after?

Yeah, can recommend to stop training leg muscles as well, you’ll get by without. Fitness dudes usually have a hard time with lengthening and excess tightness. Focus on cardio and yoga. I haven’t been to the gym in years and I’m doing great.

If you like pain and complications, make sure you go into that operating room with thick, strong muscles to provide extra resistance to the devices.

Cyborg4 has a video of stretches you need: https://m.

It’s good to stop training legs a few months or even a year before surgery. Lengthening big muscles is usually more painful and more difficult. It’s also harder to maintain flexibility with big muscles. Flexibility is the key for successful and safe LL.

Why would muscle size matter, though? It seems like only flexibility would be important.

I plan to lengthen 14-14.5 cm in two surgeries.
