Please re-evaluate and do some research if you think Sarin is a “good” doctor. I’ve read at least 3 diaries of him absolutely ruining lives on here a while ago. Please avoid that man at all costs and if you can get the surgery done in the USA, please don’t take any shortcuts.

He is not taking shortcuts. He obviously did research if he talked to 10 patients. He is aware of the risks and is making his own risk calculations.

Quote from: questpeanut on December 06, 2020, 04:29:40 PMI still find it so hard to believe that such a good doctor like Parihar would be in such a terrible looking hospital.

India ain't a rich country. I think dr P here is a kind doc who would rather help the poor and middle class than become a celebrity doc. look at his resume! I bet he couldve gone worked anywhere he wanted but he chose to work from his family hospital. Ive heard India has toooo much economic inequality. if he moved into a fancy hospital he prolly couldnt accommodate poorer patients necause hes then an employee of that hospital and cant do much to control the prices.

any way a simple google search shows that he also works frm another hospital. so I Guess you can ask to be operated there?

anywho if you can do it in the USA then nothing like it.

but if in India dr P seems to be the best. his resume reminds me of dr Ds.

Quote from: GrowTow on December 06, 2020, 01:29:25 PMI will just have to go and visit the place myself but for now, the facilities seem like a massive deal breaker, I can accept he's probably the best option in India but i'll have to believe he is 10x better than the rest of the doctors in India for my mind to be set on doing my surgery with him.

He was my first choice since joining this forum but since then (say whatever you like) the only dr that has given me reassurance and extra info is Dr Sarin, i've talked to over 10 of his patience, all were successful besides 1 non union (he fixed that too).

I just can't find many patients of Dr Parihar nor can I accept his facilities whereas Dr Sarin has a good hospital and a very good accommodation too.

Idk, i'll still go and visit every option in person for myself. If Dr Parihar seems like he has a lot more knowledge than Dr Sarin then I will go against my doubt and just do the surgery with Dr Parihar.

did you just say the S word bruh?

CLL is such an arduous process and a very personal thing, so ultimately it will come to who you feel is best for you.

Dr Parihar performed surgery at multiple hospitals in Mumbai where he is an honorary surgeon/visiting specialist and last I was there he said he used to give the option to have the surgery at another hospital. Since you already paid for the consultation you could ask if that is something he offers once again at any of those hospitals, which he had listed on his site:

"Dr. Mangal Parihar is a consultant orthopedic surgeon and limb reconstruction specialist and Honorary Assistant Professor at Sir JJ Group of Hospitals & Grant Medical College. He is also an Honorary Orthopedic Surgeon at Sir HN Hospital & Research Centre, Police Hospital and Fortis (Wockhardt) Hospitals, Mumbai. Dr. Parihar is a visiting specialist – Ilizarov Surgery at Jagjivan Ram Hospital, Mumbai."

Did he extend you the offer of having the surgery at another hospital? If so, why didn't you take it?

I asked him about it because when I first messaged him between 2008-2012 (I forget what year) he replied in an email with that as an option, but also added that it would result in a slightly higher cost for surgery due to higher charges for the operating room at another hospital. When I had my surgery in 2014 though, that option wasn't available at the time. I'm not sure if it's an option that fluctuates based on his schedule or what, but it's worth asking if you're interested in that.

I wouldn't have done it though because the room at Dr P's hospital, even though it only had a small TV, was enough for me with a bed and my laptop with wifi. Plus, I stayed at Hotel Maharana (https://www.hotelmaharana.com) for the duration of my lengthening once I was discharged and it was only like 2 blocks away from Dr Parihar's clinic, making followup visits much easier.

In your opinion, is Parihar a good option for cheap nail removal? Or not worth the risk of the dirty facility?

Anyone have any idea on how many patients Dr Parihar has each year?

I haven't spoken to any of his past patients besides obviously coming across KiloKahn and Penguin whereas Dr Sarins team sent me patients numbers whenever I asked, who I made sure were real by asking all the questions, background details, facetimed them during and after their surgery to make sure they weren't under some strict guest house rules to not say anything bad whilst lengthening. Everything imaginable. If this kind of reassurance is possible with Dr Parihar patients then of course i'd go with him.
