Hi everyone! I'm getting ready for surgery in a few months. Any advice on the best way to prepare my body?
I'm only doing tibias so I'd appreciate recommendations on leg stretching routines. I'm pretty fit and run regularly. I started basic yoga leg stretches but more specific advice would be great, especially from people who have already completed the surgery and are recovering.
True flexibility is something that is built up over years, but if you want an easier time with the constant stretching feeling with tibia lengthening (and keeping your feet in splints if doing externals or LON, then doing these exercises a lot will help: https://www.foot-pain-explored.com/calf-stretches.html
The PTs at Paleys advise getting a slant board. Basically, you want to increase the angle while you continue to stand straight up. If you get to the point where you’re able to stand straight up on the top level for a while with no real effect, start leaning forward.

Yup I second this. I should have started preparing earlier because time is a huge factor.

I'm making a DIY slant for now but if you have the means its a good idea to buy one.

100% true.
Within a few months if you start now stretching daily, you can make significant gain.
However bracing is key during lengthening as soft tissue stretch is function of time .
