Hi guys im doing external tibias and i will end the distraction phase in a week with a gain of 5,5 cm.

I can already walk completely unaided but i look like a crippled war veteran in rehab, usually after how long people start to walk properly? I was reading that this happens before removing the ex fix

with internal nails , you can expect it in about 6 months after surgery. To run it take a bit longer . almost a year

With the internal nails, I was walking well at 5 months, good at 6 months and really good at 7 months and like nothing ever happened to me by 8 months.

Wait a second, you said you are during the distraction phase with external tibia and you walk without crutches? Shouldn’t your legs crush due to your body weight? Your bone is not regenerated yet
