Looking into getting Precise 2.2 (bilateral femurs). Currently around 170.25cm.
I know the limit is 8cm, with 1mm a day distraction over 80 days for the full amount if recovery goes well.
My question is, has anyone ever attempted asking their doctor to go above 8cm with clearance, and did you succeed? Or is that pretty much out of the question in one go?
Anyone have any success going above 8cm in Femur with Precise?

That makes sense, I didn't consider the nail itself had limitations. I just know the external fixator ones can go up to 4inches (~10cm) but that's probably because those having more weight baring.

Betzbone I know can go much higher and people claim to have gotten good results however dr. Becker and betz before him seem to allow too much lengthening for me to feel comfortable, also the lengthening mechanism for the nail is supposedly really painful. I doubt it's unsafe in itself but I would just do precice 2.2. going over 8cm in one segment without balancing the other probably will start to look bad. With precice rebreak is always an option
Got it. That makes sense.
I'm currently ~170.18 - 170.85cm or so. I figured if I could get to 178 I'd already be happy, but if I could push it to ~180-181cm in one go that would be fantastic so i'd never have to do it again.
Sounds like it would be impossible with the limitation. Oh well, I'll take 178cm any day and precise 2.2 is the best current option I got.
