It has been 7 long years. I haven’t really kept up with this forum at all but I feel like if II can be of any help to anyone, I’m here

My Stryde nails are still in my legs because at the time, removing them gave me serious PTSD. I wanted to never be back in that doctors office again and I feel completely fine and healthy thank god.

Credit to Dr Mahboubian, I have no idea what he’s doing nowadays but he did a tremendous job in my case.

How much did you lengthened? How is your athletic ability now?

Lengthened 3 inches/femurs.

Athletic ability as in walking, lifting weight I’m fine. I wasn’t extremely athletic to begin with but my legs feel back to 100% strength.

I can’t run as fast as I could but I could certainly run fine.

Could you tell more about this PTSD. Did something went horrible wrong or why you got that? Have you always feared doctors / surgery etc.?

Isn't it damgerous to leave stryde in your feet? As far as I remember it could get rusted, thats why it went out of the market. I truly believe that you should remove any internal nail, especially stryde, after you are fully consolidated. Your feet will feel even better and you avoid risk like breaking your bone with the nail inside and of course, with stryde especially, rusting.

When I finished the lengthening process, I completely stopped coming to this forum and didn’t realize Stryde was recalled and it wasn’t safe to leave the nail inside. I was never notified or anything, and it has been 7 years and I feel completely fine.

I read that there could be complications with removing a nail after a long time and I just don’t want to ever go thru something like that again. My blood tests are fine, my health is great, I only weigh 155 pounds at 5’9 so I’m not very heavy.

After the whole process, it takes a toll on your mental health. The pain for me was unbearable.. the lengthening process, etc I just never wanted to be reminded of what I went thru again.

It still gives me goosebumps that I actually went ahead and did it.

Man, go to remove your Strydes because if it will get rusted, you'll be in danger...

I have understood with stryde the whole journey been way easier compared to mechanical clicking nails. How did you have so much pain? Didn't you get prober painkillers?
