Bow legs or Genu Varum: more than a cosmetic problem

Well, I'm a Latin man with genu varum hereditary problems that residing in Canada for several years. I found the Ilizarov Center through the blog of Alexandra "historia-de-raisa-centro-ilizarov"

The operation is until 11:00 am, I have a lot of anxiety ...
Entrance to the operating room, catheter in the arm, epidural anesthesia and wait. I shivered because of the epidural, no longer feel my legs.
Sometimes awake, cold and I have heard a hammer and chisel ... "clack clack clack ...".
the operation is over, I go to my bed, I feel a huge weight from the hips down, it's a very ugly feeling.
After several hours, I start to feel the fingers, legs, no pain yet. Nurses are injecting me some things, I have whey in arm (I think). The doctor asks me how I am and if feel my feet. I recommended complete rest. I like sore right buttock ...
I still have not seen my legs, I will wait on me tomorrow. I have a catheter in place to urinate.

I sat down with nurse's help for the first time.

These devices are quite heavy, it is difficult for me in this state trying to load a leg.



The pain is intense not know where, but something hurts, nurses injected me and Analgil and  Tramadol (I think it's called).
Another catheter in penis more, that pain ... God help me please!....

I stood with the help of nurses and went to the bathroom, I finally wee wee.... Bye bye catheter.
After such an exhausting journey (round trip to the bathroom), I'm pretty tired and I ache all over, I cried of pain because it is quite intense.
I can not sleep with the pain, and I have a Russian roommate who played all night on the computer and go to bed at 7:00 am !!, arrhhhhggg. The noise his made with the click of the mouse and the keyboard is tormentor.

Hi Bob...

I was X-rays, had to stand, walk to the gurney in the hallway, I almost fainted from exhaustion, two nurses are holding me to my side, I wish to end this quickly ...
I moved to a other room, now I'm with my friend the Colombian...more better.



In the previous image we can see the before and after. As you can see right leg has more deformity, so the doctor will do some extra work to correct that problem.
Basically the operation is quite simple, it is a "cut" or fracture at the top of the tibia and another cut at the bottom of the fibula. This was a closed osteotomy (valgus osteotomy). The correction was in surgery.
