No, they can lengthen the same amount, provided you have an additional surgery to swap out the nails if you're doing internal for really high amounts.

why on femur  internal method  can lengthen  more amount?

Both internal methods for Tibia and Femur nails can lengthen the same amount. But femur can handle more then 5cm better then tibia; 8cm seems to be a good limit.

External femurs are rarely done.... Femurs can can handle more lengthening because, A) they are a longer bone, so you're lengthening a lower percentage then the Tibia. B) the Tibia has two bones to be broken and there are delicate mechanics in the lower leg that operate the upward and downward motion of the foot.. its because of these unique intricacies that the tibia is generally lengthened less.

PRECICE can lengthen a maximum of 80 mm on the femur and tibia, but consult with your physician regarding the amount of lengthening appropriate for you.

To answer your question, you can (in theory) lengthen unlimited amounts with externals, as they're very stable and versatile. But in practise it's not that useful, as you'll rarely need or want to lengthen one leg more than 8-10 cms, which some nails already offer.
