I know that you generally can’t reuse the same precice nail, but what about other mechanical nails, e.g Guichet, Betzbone? Any ideas or references if that’s possible?

Reuse of a nail that used previously may cause osteomyelitis pretty quickly.

Do you know if most doctors allow you to keep the nails used after removal or are they their property? I was also thinking osteomyelitis could be avoided with proper disinfection.
