hello,
i was asking about the phases of the limb lengthening procedure.
1 - surgery phase
2 - lengthening phase
3 - correction phase ( or not )
4 - cosolidation phase.
------------
I want to stress and know more about the correction phase because some doctors in Russia are talking about it and it's importance they said that each single patient must have correction after the lengthening period to adjust the angles and mechanical axis otherwise their legs will be bad. i remember reading wannabegian diary and he was flying after the lengthening phase back to Russia for only 1 days the took an xray and so small adjustment
other doctors in Russia like Kulesh - Solomin are talking about the importance of this period which may take 1 week or more even if you were lengthening too small amount like 4 cms you must get correction - they must take xray and adjust the frame and there is no such case that wouldn't need a correction.
when i read some information in the internet and even information from paley website he didn't even mention the correction just surgery - lengthening - consolidation ( he was talking about the ilizarov in this article) .
what is your thought about correction after lengthening - if i lengthened for example 4 or 5 cm and didn't do any type of correction am i going to have bad legs ( talking about tibia)

myloginacc,
when i asked dr Kulesh he answered that he only does correction with hexapod and telling that other things will give very bad results - so do the other doctors consider hexapod in the correction - i'm asking because if your doctor doesn't do hexxapod so what he adjust in the frame instead - do some rotations and that is it ?
