Hi everyone , is that ok to have dental surgery while you still have the rod inside ?

My dentist said I may need to have prophylactic antibiotic prior to the treatment to prevent infection because I still have the rod , but I just get back from my surgeon that I don't need that , when the dentist don't have enough experience make you confuse Dentist while you have the rod
