long time listener first time caller...
I wanted to share my experience so far.
26 September 2017 I underwent a right Distal Femoral Osteotomy medial closing wedge, I had lateral compartment OA with a background of subtotal lateral meniscectomy about 15 years ago. I was an active sportsman and I had a high impact career. 
Unfortunately at about the three and a half mark, post op, I lost the correction and drifted into varus and a confirmed DFO non union. Pre op I had a 2cm LLD which I never even new about. I now have a 3cm LLD. I have flown to Brisbane QLD Australia to see a Dr who has come highly recommended.
He is proposing revision and correction of the DFO + bone grafting and a LL procedure using the Precise Nail to regain the 3cm LLD
I am a 42 yo male fit healthy, my concern is that I have already had an established nonunion. Would this procedure potentially cause me to have two nonunions in a worst case scenario? I know the answer is yes but I wanted to know whether the procedure I a little too adventurous and the Dr should be focusing on the nonunion and then dealing with the LLD?
As many have stated on this forum this is a terrifying ordeal, the impact personally, to my family and financial/occupation are massive. We put a lot of trust ultimately in the Dr to be on point when he's working but I thought that of the last Dr...and look how the turned out!!
I can if anyone is interested keep you all posted on the procedure/recovery as it helps me and I guess I am looking for some feedback as to the planned procedure. I would like to thank this forum for the wealth of information it provides and the DR's/patients who comment.
