Hey guys I posted awhile ago. So went ahead and got the surgery November 19. LON femur.

Ha, if I had it to do over again I'd probably opt for the precise. So far I've lengthened 55mm. Looking to get to 85mm.

Care has been really good and experience good too.

But LON has its challenges. It's hard to sleep for longer than 2 hrs at a time.

I'm wondering if I should leglngthen to 85mm then take off the frames and recover and if I'm not satisfied just come back and get more height in tibia next year. Or just knock them both out.

According to doc my proportions are perfect for my goals due to short legs and favorable femur/tibia ratio. My wingspan is ~68 in.

Hi whateverittakez,

Great you did the surgery! What clinic did you go to?
Still in Istanbul? Do you need to stay there all the lengthening period?

Thank you and good luck!

Just don't. LON should not be used for femurs. Save up for Precice or Betzbone or any internal nail.

Hey! Im planning to have surgery aswell! How do you feel with fixators sticking out? I mean do you feel pain every step or just discomfort?

I'm stopping lengthening at 6cm and getting the fixators removed Monday.

I mean this puts me at 166cm which is unfortunate and means I will have to come back and do tibia next year and try to get to at least 172cm.

The main issue with turkey is just that they can't really control pain because of dumb opioid laws. I mean that and a lot of other unwritten rules means that when I come back late this year I will be better prepared.

About to get fixators removed. Feeling a bit bummed at being so short to start with that this increase probably won't produce anything for me and that I have to wait until after the 2nd surgery to see results.
