update as 2020 comes to an end.

I'm still doing really well. Not much else to report. LL is definitely not something I think about at all anymore really until I look at my scar, my legs feel totally normal.

To answer some recent questions - I can squat/deadlift fine. Squats are a bit harder because my flexibility still isn't 100% so can't go that low unless I do front squats which I find easier. Long drives are fine, I can jump fine. I spoke to my dr recently and asked if it was safe to jump high/do heavy deadlifts and he told me my legs are just as strong as they were before LL (I have full consolidation now) and can handle the same weight.

I haven't decided on rod removal yet. I have no pain at all and my legs feel 100% normal. I'm not sure if it is worth it. The only reason to do it would be for metal detectors at airports but I'm not sure it's worth it.

If any vets who have had rod removal could share their experience with me I would be grateful - how long does it take to recover after the surgery?

Hey how you doing lately? I’m pretty sure you have returned to your normal life and I’m happy for you. Just wondering about when would you get your internal nails removed? Are you going back to India for removal surgery anytime soon?

People say it take days to a week to recover almost like nothing happened. Definitely short recovery in rod removal
