Quote from: Jack1066 on May 06, 2017, 12:12:48 PMP.S. I was wrong about LON and LATN. They combine internal and external methods but use an external device to do the work of lengthening.

Also externals on femurs are painful, LON and LATN are apparently better, because you need the external devise only for the time of lengthening. Just FYI if you didn't know

Fixed that for you to avoid missinformation getting spread Dr solomin 2018-2019?

Quote from: Jack1066 on March 27, 2017, 01:18:55 PMI'm considering a toss-up between Mitkovic and Solomin in this time period for internals. It depends on how much money I have. I might join you.

I'm in the same situation, I guess it just really depends on how much money I have saved up. The only bad thing I heard about Dr. Solomin is getting a visa longer than a month, which isn't really his fault. But how can you extend your stay?

Thanks Chris

Yes with LATN and LON you can wear the external device for maybe 1/3rd as long, only during lengthening, not consolidation.

I heard that Solomin's clinic can sort out a visa for longer than that? In fact, this is what he told me when he emailed. Where did you hear that it was difficult to get anything longer than a one month visa?

Maybe I was mistook Solomin with somebody else. I thought I read a thread a while ago that said he doesn't offer visa support. Is that not right?

When he emailed me he said he did offer full visa support if requested.

Ah but the catch is that visa support is only offered if you stay and are treated at the more expensive MEDEM clinic (instead of St. Elizabeth).

I've been looking into Solomin a lot more since reading this, and as far as price goes it's incredibly tempting. Do you guys know of any diaries or any experiences from him? I for the life of me cannot find a single complete one.

Hi guys,

I have done LATN with dr Solomin, from my experience if you guys go with external only, I would recommend him, but if you go with LATN, I would not because the frame for external only, has 5 half pins and 4 wires, then when nailing you would have from 5 to 6 incisions for screws and a big one on the knee, then you will end up with a lot of scars, plus these incisions, pins will affect to your nerves, currently I have one skin area near the right knee having numbness, in some places the sensation is reduced, and the biggest complication is my left foot still have no sensation and painful inside, the toes is difficult to move up and down and couldn't move in horizontal direction. When I told him these symptoms he only said that I should consult with a neurologist and didn't explain any thing or giving his opinion on this. When I came back my country and met with an orthopaedic specialist and an neurologist, they said that I need to wait for some months for nerve recovery and it may or may not recover completely.

So if you go with external + internal I think you should consider LON with dr Parihar
