Hello, i have finished LON tibias over a year ago. It wasnt that bad. But for Femurs LON is a diff story, it seems way too painful to even be on the wheelchair. For someone in their mid 20s would u think its better to go Precice 2 and save up for a couple more years or go LON Femurs immediately?

Precice 2.2 is better than LON. I would wait one or two years for Precice max.

Its all about what you want. If you think you can handle the discomfort go with lon. If not its better to have precice

Go LON femurs if you want permanent stiffness and reduction in your knee ROM due to all the muscle scarring.

I've heard enough bad about LON femur to fully agree with this. Not recommended. Good things come to those who wait; and if you do the next surgery with your tibs 100% recovered it will only make recovery from the next surgery that much easier.

LON femur is double the price now. As someone who’s experienced both, LON femur is like 3x harder than external tibias. I would save up for precice, Assayag charges like 60k currently for precice 2 if you do each leg a week apart, and it will save you a world of pain. I think prices are going up soon however.

Also the hackerman-patz non profit housing is 15$ a day for LL patients. It’s across the street from assayags office where he does X-rays/visits and across from PT. You don’t wanna go to turkey and play roulette to save 20-30 grand. I was one of those guys that did that (when lon femur was 15k euros), and buldu is very experienced, but there were good and bad cases. A lot of people were good, but a portion suffered minor and permanent complications. I required an extra surgery when my left fixator stopped working. Buldu covered it free of charge, but it was extra suffering. If you want it done properly, do it in the USA or an ethical country. Turkey has high end hospitals and buldu isn’t unexperienced, he does over a hundred a year for sure, but the method should not be legal/available. It truly is a lot of suffering, and the only way a lot of us pushed through was by being drugged out the entire process. I was taking prescription Xanax and other medications to make it bearable.

Just save up for Precise. No one should be doing LON femurs at this point. It's by far the most unsafe method in addition to leaving the worst scarring.
