Quote from: oklama on August 09, 2025, 03:55:22 PMhe saying Salameh has done a lot of work on deformities, so he is confident in his abilities. Salameh posted a video on his instagram where at the end it says "cosmetic forearm lengthening" and 5cm would be quite a big deformity for someone who had done ll twice previously to have just coincidentally.

on one arm??

Im not sure if you are the one in the video, but the pronation and supination (especially the supination) looks poor. It seems like the majority of the range of motion is lost. This may be a result of the frames in some way, but if thats the true final result than nobody should do this. I hope you return to show a video of your range of motion. To have a good range of motion after 5cm would be impressive considering thats a huge lengthening on the forearm. The scars are also potentially a deal breaker, although they dont look too bad in that video, Ilizarov scars are usually horrible.

I think 5cm is probably too much for this procedure, given it already being risky. If I were to do it id probably do 3cm at most. However it is generally a very scary idea to do this. I am doing research however this isn't very well documented. The only thing for sure is that it's difficult and risky. A small reduction in range of motion is acceptable, but definitely not whats being shown in that video.

I hope you return to share your result more in-depth. It's really kind of ridiculous to say "ive done this lengthening nobody has ever done before thats very dangerous btw it went great" and just leave it like it nothing with no proof for six months (all the Imgur links are down).

I understand if your result is bad you may feel embarrassed and not want to come back and say you've fked up but this is very very valuable information

Guy in the video is not this guy I think. This guy says hes from New Zealand and this video sounds like a guy with some sort of middle-eastern accent.

wow this is so interesting to see. ive never seen a video of the forearm before. my forearm is so small compare to my overall height with shoes. am im planning to lengthen my femurs too so its going to look off a bit. this gives me a slight hope but not necessarily want to go all in on this yet.

I spoke to dr salameh and he confirmed he performed cosmetic forearm lengthening on both forearms. he however claims the person targeting 5 only achieved 3cm. He says the reccomended lengthening would only be 2.5cm and after that it becomes more difficult. good thing is 2.5cm on forearm is still significant and corresponds to about a 9cm height increase.

The scars are apparently not too bad because the pin size is small. The thing I am most concerned with is the pronation and supination, which he says is good, but I would need to see a video to be convinced.

Price is 35k EUR

well I just rang and spoke to Dr Salameh, and he stated it was not in any way cosmetic - but to correct a deformity in one arm - which confirms the posts of this 'patient'.

I guess we can await medical confirmation from this clinic - but this will not be forthcoming.

It has not been done cosmetically - thank god. 🤷‍♂️

So two post with opposite thing haha. Well anyways 2.5cm is only 1 month of pain. So that's super quick for the amount of suffering u go through.

I talked to salameh directly over email, this other guy is a troll or something or salameh was referring to a different non-cosmetic case. I would believe me and OP over this guy. The distraction rate is 0.6mm salameh said. it would be about 6 months in the fixator.
