Hi, i was acceped to take part in clinical trial of limb lengthening in Poland. Company is called orthoget and its some sort of internal nail. I am however not an ideal patient but doctor told me because of lack of ideal candidates he would performance surgery on me. The problem is with my femurs. For one they are slightly bowed and second my Channel inside bone is 14,2mm, /11,1 mm and the nail requires 12 mm. Is widening the Channel inside the bone to fit the nail a very bad idea? I really need to know!
ThIs trial takes over 1 year to complete where you are being monitorem, i dont think they accepted outside of country
Yes
Sińce i was already accepted spots must have filled up, Just So no one gets their hopes up
Hi update. Lenghtening device was not working properly and legs consolidated, others had simmilar issues but some managed to lenghten using new device, im now waiting for date of new surgery to recut bone and check if nails are working properly if not they will be changed too. Theres susspicion with me specifically they might be faulty as theres not much consolidation visible on xray and strong magnet should be able to pull bones apart. Its been 2,5 months and im still at starting point, Horror i know
On the bright side i could walk with crutches from next day from surgery
No they are not, if it was precice i would have bend it long time ago lol
dont worry it works now its just theres issue with some that bone consolidated i suppose, also some had worse but for me pain lvl was quite comfortable. Cant say about lenghtening phase as i never entered it lol
Where are you frome? do you plan to stay in poland for lenghtening phase? We have to do xrays every 2 weeks
