Day 8
Got the other CLLC physio coming to see me today - they alternate. Super great person too. I first met him on a video call, then again in person at the place where I had surgery.
Lower back pain is gone. It was there a tiny bit in the morning, but now it’s gone.
Also Victor just announced a special surprise guest from up north coming on the livestream?? Who the heck can it be? Can it be who I think it is?
Gdalevitch PRECICE 2.2 Antegrade trochanteric 10° 10.7mm | Goal: maximum stroke
Your back pain is likely caused by the sacroiliac (SI) joint, and your pelvis is generally misaligned. I’ve suffered from this issue for at least 20 years, since I was a young boy. Two months ago, I finally found a "specialist" who noticed I was walking a few millimeters off. He straightened me out. The problem returned quickly, within days. But now, by doing glute walking (lifting all other limbs, including legs, and "walking" forward slowly on your glutes, like you would with your feet), I’ve found relief. Another trick to possibly realign the SI joint at home: lie down or sit, place a pillow between your knees, and squeeze as hard as you can. (Of course, I can’t recommend this since you’re preparing for surgery.) If you hear or feel a click in your lower back, the SI joint likely popped back into place.
The problem is that if your pelvis and SI joint have been misaligned for a long time, your spine is likely misaligned all the way up to the base of your skull. So, the entire body needs to be realigned. I recommend an experienced manual therapist. Unfortunately, there are differences among these specialists, so the first one may not fully resolve your issue.
Haha, just noticed now—your lower back pain is already gone!
Thank you for this info! I just recently had LL surgery so most likely cant do some of these things.
Day 9
Went to CLLC for my one week follow up with Dr. Gdalevitch.
The mummy wraps were taken off and it was time to remove the dressings and staples.
The CLLC nurse unstapled me.
I am a piece of paper stuck together - unstaple, unstaple, unstaple. Wasn't too bad.
I'm kind of going to miss the large hip dressing I had that covered the nail entry point - it kind of looked like I had curves in all the right places like I got a big booty.
Once I mentioned this, the CLLC nurse was quick to point out my resemblance to a Kardashian... cuz that's totally the look I was trying to achieve with this surgery
Dr. Gdalevitch said I can lose the mummy wraps and compression socks - that is a relief.
Everything else looks good too and I can start lengthening tomorrow! And shower!
Tuned into Victor's livestream - he was interviewing a Dr. G patient. I know him personally, great guy, we first met on a livestream, then in person since I moved into the same complex. He achieved the maximum stroke of the nail in his femurs. I hope to follow in his footsteps... literally, in the same building.
Also, a special guest came on - it was Dr. Gdalevitch! I knew it would be her.
She made a special announcement since there was a pause on surgeries for 4–5 months for reasons moronic (it was on the news).
I was actually the first one to be operated on since the pause.
Ain't no stopping greatness, fool - this Death Star is fully operational.
Day 10
Thank you Lord for today.
It is Good Friday.
I got to take a shower today after surgery - I feel like I look like creepy John the Baptist eating locusts and wild honey from The Chosen… or like a wildling wench from Game of Thrones as my hair is tangled to no end.
It felt good to take a shower.
It’s also the day I get to do my first lengthening!
I got the ERC. Will distract at 0.25mm bilateral, 4x a day.
The Globus/NuVasive rep said I must wait at least 3 hours before each session. He was also super nice and really wanted to answer all my questions.
I can’t believe it - Master Broken Legs will now officially become Master Distractor.
Here are my evolution stages like a Pikachu (I went on Victor’s YT live streams with these names):
Master Pre-Habber (getting ready for surgery for months) … evolved to
-> Master Butchering the French Language (after arrival in Montreal) … evolved to
-> Master Broken Legs (after surgery - latency phase) … evolved to
-> Master Distractor (distraction phase - I am here!!!)
I expected the ERC to be a bit bigger than it actually is, but man I’m glad to finally get my hands on the thing after watching so many others use it and reading about it for so damn long. Finally, my turn.
I am now 1.25mm taller as I write this at the end of the day (0.25mm was distracted during surgery).
It is indeed a Good Friday.
ERC distraction session end times:
11:15 AM – 3:35 PM – 7:20 PM – 11:25 PM
How many cm you have distracted?
