Guys, I have had a meeting with Dr Parihar. I have bow legs that need correction. I have planned to have lengthening of 3 cms alongside at the moment. I am thinking of unilateral procedure(one leg at a time). Any inputs and suggestions are welcome. I am new here. Is this the place to maintain your diary and journey?

GoodLuck.

I will going with Dr. Parihar after my Graduation, I have few Question:
1. Do you have Bow deformity both in Tibia and Femur?
2. Why you went with external rather than Internal nail?
3. What the final Cost he said? And did it cost extra to correct bow leg with Lengthening?

Unilateral makes the process easier but longer,
and the fact you have to go through recovery, get better slowly and when you feel your best you have to go for another surgery and go through all over again.
However I didn't do bilateral so I can't say if it's easier...

Parihar doesn't do combined method? Lon / latn?

What is your starting height?
Why not more than 3cm?

1. I have deformity in the tibia alone. Femur is normal
2. Nailing is difficult in the bent bone. External provides both correction and lengthening at the same time. The idea of Reaming something through the bone is also uncomfortable
3. He has to send the details of the price. I am waiting.

He does LON. But putting a nail was not an option for me owing to my bow leg condition.
My height is 167 cms
Going for more than 3cms could be very tough with externals alone. But I am open to pushing it to an extra cm if the situation allows.
