Quote from: ghkid2019 on September 10, 2020, 11:22:30 PMUsually 1.5 to 2 months per cm for pure externals/no nail until consolidation for tibias. So 5cm lengthening is about 7.5 months in wheelchair in best case scenario

the announcement/ full details should come out tomorrow so we'll see. normal interlocking plates allow for weight bearing so i doubt youll be wheelchair bound for that long

Guys, I don’t want to get your hopes up, But this implant was designed in our center by John Herzenberg and Shawn Standard, Along with Paley and Mark Dahl.

this is targeted for Kids with open growth plates that cannot be violated by a nail.

It is not intended to be weight bearing, and for now will only allow 4cm of lengthening for troubleshooting purposes.

Stryde is still the best option for CLL.

Is this device much less traumatic than Stryde?

no at all.  Quite the contrary, for the moment until surgical technique improves, it will require bigger surgical exposure.

It is designed for pediatric (kids) patients whose growth plates cannot be violated.
