Hello,
I'm in my early 30's, I live alone and my family doesn't support this decision at all. Nevertheless I'm considering taking this gigantic step and undergoing this surgery. This height issue has completely crushed my self-confidence from childhood to this day and I plan to overcome this
Currently my height is about 169cm or 5 ft 6.5 in (also for the past year I've been wearing 2cm shoe insoles) and I think that gaining about 5 to 6 cm of height would put me in the "average guy" category and resolve this "issue" permanently, no shoe insoles bull , being able to walk by the beach on flip flops, going out with confidence..
In the country I live in, people of my ethnicity are usually around 175cm on average.
My budget is something around 15k USD and I can afford myself up to 6 months for going from surgery to be able to take care of myself, so this would mean walking with difficulty but without crutches and be able to drive a car and walk around short distances to go to work (no sports or significant efforts).
According to what I've seen, I can only afford external LL, since I live in south america I would prefer something close to home, but I would also consider going somewhere else like Russia, Spain or some other european country if you guys recommend it.
Is it possible to recover in 6 months after external LL like I mentioned?
Scaring is also something I think about, do people remove the scars with minor plastic surgery??
Should I wait and save more money to do internal (perhaps the prices would go down when this procedure becomes more mainstream??)
What do you guys think?

Quote from: YourSpaceBoyfriend on September 14, 2016, 05:54:58 PMFor 15k you will get surgery only in India(Russia is not recommended, a lot of people got screwed up there) and it's only cost for surgery and fixator, you need to add some money for 3 month stay, food etc.
I've mentioned Russia because they pretty much invented LL surgery and I've seen a post on this forum that mentioned a complete treatment including living arrangements for around 13K USD.
Can you share a link perhaps of how people got screwed up in Russia?, I couldn't find one but perhaps I didn't look enough..
No offense to anyone in this forum but I won't go to India nor Pakistan..
